HIU Welcomes Assistant Dean of Student Experience

HIU is thrilled to welcome Nelizabeth Diaz as Assistant Dean of Student Experience.

Nelizabeth joins Hartford International University from California Polytechnic State University, where she managed initiatives that promoted student engagement, advising, and retention for a diverse student population. She will work closely with Dean Grant, the Enrollment Services Committee, and Facilities. Nelizabeth is excited to join HIU and contribute to a student-centered environment.

Most recently, Nelizabeth served as Coordinator of Student Development, where her responsibilities included providing crisis response and intervention, supporting student accommodation requests, and developing programs that foster a sense of belonging and retention. She earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont and her Bachelor's degree in Psychological Science from the University of Connecticut. Nelizabeth is bilingual in English and Spanish.
