Biography
Jamir Dean Meah is an Islamic scholar whose areas of expertise include theology, Islamic law and legal hermeneutics, and Sufism. He received traditional training in the classical Islamic sciences over more than a decade of study in Tarim, Yemen, and Amman, Jordan, earning ijazat (teaching authorizations) from leading scholars.
He holds a master’s degree in Interreligious Studies from Hartford International University with a specialization in Islamic Studies and has held teaching appointments at several institutions, including serving as senior faculty and curriculum developer. He is the founder and resident scholar at the Key to the Garden Foundation, established in 2020 to support education, community building, and holistic well-being.
His scholarly work centers on the application of classical Islamic thought to contemporary challenges. He has authored thousands of responses to inquiries on theology, law, ethics, and spiritual counsel, and is currently preparing several works on Islamic law, logic, and history.
He currently serves as Assistant Director of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, Muslim Chaplain, and Professor at Wesleyan University.
