On July 1, 2025, Dr. Sherry Turner officially took the reins as president of Hartford International University for Religion and Peace (HIU). She succeeds Joel N. Lohr, who led HIU from 2018 to 2025.
Selected after a yearlong search, President Turner was chosen for her ability to guide HIU’s mission in a multicultural and religiously diverse world by inspiring a shared vision, strengthening HIU’s national leadership in interreligious education and peace studies, expanding academic programs and enrollment, and deepening partnerships.
