Christmas Gift-Giving Ministry Gets a Boost from Volunteers

The annual "Where Love Is" Christmas gift-giving ministry for children in need is back in full swing at Hartford International University. A dozen or so volunteers spent the evening stuffing gift bags and organizing toys for the hundreds of children who will receive them over the next few weeks.

Professor Emerita Miriam Therese Winter and the Rev. Gail Williams have been collecting toys for children in need for many years. Social workers come to HIU annually to "shop" for children they know, which allows them to provide age-appropriate gifts. 

Volunteers filled hundreds of gift bags with small toys and "stocking" items to give away as well.

You can help by bringing an unwrapped toy to campus at 77 Sherman Street during business hours, or send a check so that gifts can be purchased in your name.
