HIU Mourns the Loss of Ambassador John Berman

The Hartford International community mourns the loss of John Arthur Berman, who was a devoted ambassador and supporter. 

John was a graduate of Wheaton College and UConn Law School. After graduating, he joined his father's firm, then called Berman and Berman. They were later joined by another HIU ambassador, Courtney B. Bourns, and the firm changed its name to Berman and Bourns.

In addition to his support of HIU, John held many volunteer positions, including as one of the founders of Community Solutions Inc. and Hope Works. He supported a wide variety of charitable institutions and was active in his church, Westminster Presbyterian. In addition, he served in the General Assembly, as Corporator Counsel for West Hartford, and as a probate judge.
