Katy has long been interested in raising awareness through education and training to create environments where individuals can show up as their full selves. Prior to leading HIU’s Executive and Professional Education, she led a Dementia Friendly America Community Initiative in CT. The Dementia Friendly movement is meant to educate people about dementia, dispel the stigma associated with the disease, and foster public understanding.

Katy also spent many years directing programs at Leadership Greater Hartford, an organization that brings people of diverse backgrounds together to build the awareness and mutual trust needed for partnerships that serve the greater good.

Originally from Wisconsin, Katy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
