Community Mourns the Loss of Former Controller Lilyne Hollingworth

The HIU community is sad to announce that Lilyne Hollingworth, the institution's controller from 1992-2015, has passed away. 

"Lilyne was a cherished member of the HartSem (HIU) family," said Lorraine Ryan, Vice President of Operations. "She was a dedicated and beloved employee."

Lilyne leaves behind two sons, Thomas Kelly of South Kingstown, RI and Brian Hollingworth of Groton, CT. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Beth Schmitt (Paul), Sharon Toti (Jack), Maureen Cottrell (Billy), William Kelly (Rieko), John Kelly (Nicki) and her stepmother Patricia Kelly. A wake will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. The wake will be followed by mass at St. Francis Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield, RI.
