Honoring the Life and Legacy of Former President Barbara Brown Zikmund

Hartford International University for Religion and Peace invites the community to a service of remembrance and thanksgiving honoring the Rev. Dr. Barbara Brown Zikmund, affectionately known as BBZ.

President Zikmund led Hartford Seminary from 1990 to 2000 as its first woman president. Her leadership helped deepen the institution’s commitment to interreligious understanding and expand opportunities for women in theological education.

Family, friends, alumni, students, faculty, staff, trustees, and community members are welcome to gather for music, prayer, and personal reflections celebrating her life and lasting contributions.

This is an in-person and online event. A reception will be held in the library after the service.

All Zoom participants will be muted during the service so everyone can hear and fully experience the program.
