How do I register or RSVP for the inauguration?
RSVPs can be submitted here: https://www.hartfordinternational.edu/form/inauguration.

What is the RSVP deadline?

Do I need to RSVP if I’m a current student, faculty, or staff member?
Yes. Even if you are a current student, faculty, or staff member, we ask that you RSVP to help us plan accordingly.
What should I do if I’m unable to attend as a delegate? Can I send someone to my place?
Yes. If you’re unable to attend, you can indicate a proxy to attend on your behalf on the delegate RSVP form.

What is the dress code?
Delegates participating in the procession should wear their academic regalia. All other guests are encouraged to wear business or business casual attire.
Do delegates need to bring their academic regalia?
Yes. Delegates should bring academic regalia from the institution they represent, as they will be worn during the formal academic procession.

Will there be a space to change into academic regalia?
Yes, there is a room to robe in the West Hartford Town Hall, where the ceremony will be taking place.
How is the order of the academic procession determined?
Delegates will process in order based on their institution’s founding date. A staff member will be responsible for lining up delegates in the correct order.
Will there be reserved seating for delegates?
Yes. Reserved seating will be provided for delegates participating in the procession

What time does the inauguration ceremony begin?
The official installation of President Sherry L. Turner will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium. A reception will immediately follow. Delegates will be asked to report by 2 p.m. to robe and prepare for the procession.
Who is eligible or invited to attend the Inauguration Ceremony?
Attendance at the ceremony is open to all members of the Hartford International University for Religion and Peace Community (students, faculty, staff, alumni, families) and invited guests. The ceremony will also be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.

Where can I park?
You can park in the main lot at 50 S. Main St, West Hartford, CT 06107. Note, please give your license plate number to one of the designated parking staff. Parking is free on Sundays but the license plate must be validated.
How can accommodations for people with disabilities be arranged?

Will the events be livestreamed or recorded?
Yes, the inauguration will be livestreamed and recorded to ensure accessibility for those unable to attend in person. Livestream links and recordings will be available on our website and social media platforms.
